The city of Rio de Janeiro came alive this September with one of the world’s biggest music festivals, Rock in Rio! Spanning over several unforgettable days, the festival brought together music lovers from around the globe for a celebration of incredible performances, stunning visuals, and a passion for live entertainment.
Headlining the vent were global icons like Travis Scott, Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry and Shawn Mendes, alongside rising stars. With multiple stages showcasing a diverse array of genres – from rock and pop to electronic and indie – the festival had something for everyone, ensuring every moment was packed with excitement and energy.
But it wasn’t just the music that wowed the crowds. The stunning stage designs and lighting setups played a huge role in creating an immersive experience.
This year, Rock in Rio’s stages featured a stellar lineup of Ayrton fixtures: including 48 x Rivale Profiles, 24 x Domino LTs, and 16 x Cobras, all working together to create breathtaking light shows. These fixtures delivered everything from dramatic spotlights and sharp beams to beautiful washes of colour, perfectly complementing the energy of each performance.
Brining all these elements to life were over a dozen grandMA3 consoles, ensuring that every detail of the lighting design was executed with precision. The intricate programming and control made for smooth transitions and unforgettable moments.
We were especially proud to have our Sales Director, Philip Norfolk, onsite throughout the entire festival, offering his expertise and support to the production teams and lighting designers behind the scenes. Philip’s presence ensured that the users could get the best out of the equipment.
It was the perfect end to the busy 2024 festival season, and we’re already counting down until next year!
