A hot and humid ancient path located in a sub-basement meant an IP65 rating was top priority, and the lack of power to the basement meant that a self-powered solution was a necessity. Lux’s technical team knew the perfect fixture for this project was the Astera PlutoFresnel complete with the newly launched ProjectionLens accessory. However, there was one issue with this – with the exception of a couple of demo units, there were currently no ProjectionLenses in the country.
Luckily, the team got in touch with Loz – their key account manager at Ambersphere – who was able to work her magic and supply Lux with 6 ProjectionLens accessories in time for the event, making them the first company in the UK to take stock of them! Along with the new PlutoFresnels and ProjectionLens units, Lux also received two cases of Astera PixelBricks and one box of Astera AX2 PixelBars.
After everything was pre-patched in the warehouse, Project Manager Phoebe Jeynes accompanied one of the team’s lighting technicians down to the installation. Together, they were able to install and set up everything well ahead of schedule, and within 45 minutes were able to take the client on a walkthrough to confirm positions and lighting hues. The battery powered fixtures were able to outlast the event by two hours, and a well-coordinated take out meant that they were able to clear the venue within 10 minutes.
