As Jamie xx embarks on the world tour for his new album, ‘In Waves’ – his first in nine years – Mandylights has been at the forefront of designing a visual experience that captivates audiences.
A highlight of this collaboration was the headline shows at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace in September, where Jamie xx performed to sold-out crowds over two consecutive nights. The visual design for these shows focused on a projection-based setup, immersing the audience in animated waves and dynamic content inspired by the album’s artwork.
An integral part of Tom Edwards from Mandylights design were 20 x Ayrton Cobras, which were used to illuminate a 2.2 metre-wide mirror ball. When the mirror ball was revealed, the dazzling beam from the Ayrton Cobras created a truly unforgettable moment, receiving a huge reaction from the crowd.
The lights were also being controlled by 2 x grandMA3 Full Size consoles, which were directly purchased from Ambersphere.
