EagleStrike was born from a bespoke request for a signature luminaire. It stands as the first LED-source followspot in Ayrton’s range, engineered for intensive outdoor use across long distances where precision is paramount. An optional camera transforms EagleStrike into a fully automated tracking spotlight. To create this uncompromising and unmatched extreme-luminaire, Ayrton developed an oversized 270mm front lens weighing 7.7 kg, delivering an ultra-intense 2.9° beam. Its proprietary 13-lens optical system offers a 15:1 zoom ratio and a working range of 2.9° to 43°, with the ability to narrow the beam to 0.9° or 2.5° using dedicated gobo reducers. Equipped with a brand-new high-efficiency 1200-watt LED module, EagleStrike outputs a luminous flux of 55,000 lm at a colour temperature of 6500 K, and achieves a record-breaking illuminance of over 100,000 lux at 10 metres. The fixture introduces an entirely new ultra-fast CMY flag-based colour mixing system, capable of matching the speed of Ayrton’s ‘ultimate’ series luminaires. A progressive CTO offers subtle tuning from 2900 K to 6500 K. The colour section includes six complementary colour filters, two CRI enhancement filters, one minus green, one gobo correction and one multi-colour filters.
EagleStrike features a full-framing system with precise blade positioning across 100% of the field, and ±90° rotation, allowing users to frame any object regardless of the luminaire’s orientation. The effects section combines two overlaying rotating gobo wheels, each equipped with seven gobos, a 15-blade iris diaphragm, and a single-colour effects wheel. Designed with a range of optical tools for sculpting the light, EagleStrike includes two Frost-filters – one with light diffusion that softens edges without altering the beam angle, and a high-diffusion variant for wash applications – as well as two combinable and rotating image-multiplier prisms: a 4-facet linear and a 5-facet circular. Its minimalist design integrates all waterproofing features while maintaining full access to internal components. A next-generation oversized cooling system ensures high efficiency, featuring three submersible fans located outside the sealed housing. Continuous rotation on the pan axis expands creative potential and facilitates use in automatic followspot mode. EagleStrike will exceed your expectations.
